Welcome to Poems on Purpose! I’m Jill, and I’m so glad you’re here.
A little about me — I love the LORD. Breathing in fresh pine air, through the woods, on a hike where I’m doing nothing but being with Him, is a gift.
And doing, too. Working in His strength, oriented to Him and His purpose as He guides me in the work He carved out for me to do before the foundation of the world is so good. And also a gift.
He changes me through the work He does in and through me. It’s painful at times, but I wouldn’t change it. I want more of His work in my life. And this is an attempt to share what I love about Him, and am learning about Him.
God is good and His gospel is good — Jesus, the perfect Son, fully God and fully man, — lived perfectly — died for me — and rose again — giving me His perfect record and taking my sinful one upon him. And now, through Him, I live. It’s the best thing I’ve ever heard and His daily goodness is the best thing I’ve ever known. Do you know it? Oh how I want you to.
I hope to glorify and honor God through poetry. It’s a joy and a privilege to be able to share poetry with you and I hope you find something here that you didn’t have before. Keep enjoying the written word, friends! It’s a gift.
