Poem About Depression: More Than This

It’s hard to see past the horizon. When everything is blurry. When you can only see an inch in front of you and it doesn’t look good. It’s hard. And hope seems like a fairy tale word. But, dear one, a candle casts light an inch in diameter. And sometimes that’s all we need.

Today. Now. There is more for tomorrow. And that’s what this poem is about. There is so much more going on than what we can see. And the hope that’s real, and everlasting, is found in His Word — the Bible. If you haven’t looked at it. If it’s been awhile. Know that I’m praying for you now, as I write. That you would crack it open and then open it all the way. One inch at a time.

Share your need with Him. If only as a “help.” Help me understand. Help me to know You. Your Hope — Your name. Jesus. Jesus is His name. And He is eternally King of kings and Lord of lords. Creator of the world and of you. He holds it all together. You’re never out of His reach.
